Embracing the Journey

In the journey of life, we often find ourselves facing moments of frustration and longing, especially when it comes to our careers. The constant pursuit of success can sometimes lead to feelings of envy and self-doubt. In a world where success stories are constantly on display, it’s easy to feel left behind. But perhaps it’s time to take a step back and reflect on these emotions, as they are part of the journey we call life.

Expectations and Realities

“I think… it’s time… this is definitely something I expected to happen.” It’s a sentiment many of us can relate to. We set expectations for ourselves, hoping for the best outcomes, especially when it comes to our careers. We see our friends getting jobs, earning higher salaries, and achieving their goals, and it’s natural to want the same for ourselves.

The Bittersweet Taste of Others’ Success

We must acknowledge the reality that sometimes life doesn’t unfold as planned. It’s important to understand that destiny can’t always be changed. It’s a realization that underscores the importance of acceptance and resilience in the face of disappointment.

“Only If” Moments

Life is full of “only if” moments, those instances where we wonder how things might have turned out differently if we had been given a chance. For example, sometimes its hard to accept when… people getting the job that I wish for, but they don’t know how to do their job. Sometimes, my friends in better job tell me, they were asked questions regarding the job and they wasn’t able to answer. I cant help but feel like “only if” they gave me the job instead, I would be very good in that position.

I understand, they will learn later in the job, and they will SURELY be more advanced than me.

Indeed, in life theres a lot of “only if”…

Embracing Reality and Deal With It

Ray Dalio

In the end, life is full of “only if” moments, but dwelling on them won’t necessarily propel us forward. Instead, it’s important to embrace the journey and focus on the things we can control such as doing well in your current job.

This is also one of the motivation that I hold on to, the importance of hardwork in anything I do. With the hope that my next success story in life might just be my own “only if” moment turned into reality.

Lesson:

  1. Acceptance: Accept that not everything will go according to plan. Destiny often has its own path for us.
  2. Jealousy and Comparison: It’s okay to feel jealousy when others achieve what you aspire to. Acknowledge those feelings but don’t let them consume you.
  3. Resilience: Be resilient in the face of setbacks. Remember that everyone starts somewhere, and you can learn and grow in any role.
  4. “Only If” Moments: Use these moments as motivation to keep working toward your goals.
  5. Embrace the Journey: Life is a journey, and success doesn’t always come instantly. Embrace the process, keep working hard, and your time will come. If you did a mistake in the past, learn from it and improve.

Just like flowers, some bloom faster than others. But don’t be sad because your time will come to bloom, and you will be unique in your own ways.
